Registration - General Information

Adult education classes are open to all persons 18 years of age and older.

ASSESSMENT and REGISTRATION

Call 933-7455 for information about registration for the following programs:

     High School Diploma
     General Education Development (GED)
     Adult Basic Education (ABE)
English as a Second Language (ESL)

Senior Adults:   Four terms are offered throughout the school year.  Call 933-7455 for dates to register.

Career Technical Education:   Register in the main office - open entry.

Off-Site:  Registration for most classes at locations other than the School for Adults takes place in the classroom at the first class meeting.

ATTENDANCE:  Students are expected to attend every class session.  Hours missed because of illness, tardiness, etc., are all considered absences.

CANCELLATION OF CLASSES:  Classes may be cancelled if attendance is below minimum levels.

CHILDREN: Children are not permitted in any adult school class except for designated family education classes.

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT:  Concurrent enrollment in high school term classes is available to high school students.  To concurrently enroll, high school students must meet with their high school counselor and follow the procedure outlined on the concurrent pre-registration application.  Adults have priority in all adult education classes.

COST: The School for Adults does not charge tuition.  Career education and senior courses require a "materials fee" for books or other necessary materials.  These fees must be paid at the time of registration.  No personal checks or credit cards are accepted and no refunds will be issued unless a class is cancelled.

COUNSELING SERVICES:  Educational and career counseling is available through the Stockton School for Adults.

NONDISCRIMINATION:  The Stockton Unified School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in any of its policies or practices. The District has a uniform complaint process that allows for the filing of a complaint.  A copy of that policy is posted in the School for Adults Office.

SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS:  A list of school rules is available at the School for Adults Office.

TOBACCO FREE:  Use of tobacco products is not permitted on school property.
